The Trustees recently added the position of Treasurer to their list of officers. Harvey Garneau agreed to take on that position.
Recently the Trustees formed two very active committees to help plan for the future of the library.
The first is a Facility Needs Committee chaired by Harvey Garneau. Other members of the committee are Linda Hearn, Ginny Jones, Beth Kramer, Bea Phear, Linda Hughes, Leah Smith, Nelia Decker and Suzi Wasserman. The committee is determining the critical needs of the library and will present a report to the Trustees in February.
The second committee, Melissa Hackney, Dan Waters, Linda Hearn and Beth Kramer, is in the process of setting up a library foundation. The purpose of the foundation is to raise and hold monies to benefit the library. The first function would be to raise money for any addition to the library that is determined by the Facility Needs Committee. Melissa Hackney has completed the research and paperwork necessary to file the foundation papers and the committee is in the process of forming the Board of Directors for the Foundation.
